To commemorate the “International Day of the Elderly” which was on 1st October, Mahe Shipping Company Ltd organized a cleanup of the Anse Boileau Elderly Home along with a donation of crutches, as part of its corporate social responsibility. This noble voluntary activity which took place on Saturday 14th October 2023, aimed towards making a meaningful difference to the ten elderly residents at the home, whilst creating a more friendly and conducive environment for them.
The activity comprised of decluttering the gutters, interior paint touchups, grass cutting and other landscaping duties around the compound. Employees of the company even contributed with some local fruits, vegetables and even a freshly baked homemade cake which was offered to the elderly residents at the home. The donation ceremony was attended by a few residents of the home, the District Administrator and Ms. Cadeau the Manager of the home. During the ceremony, twenty crutches were offered to the home and ten to the Anse Boileau community itself, through the District Administration Office. The company shall continue with similar activities throughout the upcoming months by donating some crutches to other homes around Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. We are grateful to all the Mahe Shipping employees who made a special effort to make this activity a success.
