A new quay to relieve congestion and reduce unloading time has been officially opened.The Ile du Port Handling Services port is a 425-metre commercial fishing quay adjacent the existing port fcilities of Port Victoria.

Didier Dogley, Minister for Tourism, Port and Civil Aviation noted since the commissioning of part of the quay in January 2016,operations have improved significantly. On behalf of the new facility, Arthur de Bretagne, said that the new quay “will be a cornerstone for new investments and new businesses dedicated to the fisheries industry.”

At a meeting of the Board of Directors of Mahe Shipping held on 12 July 2018, Jean-Francois Adam was confirmed as a director of the company.

Mahe Shipping held its first ever team building day on Saturday 7th July 2018 at the Coral Strand Hotel, Beau Vallon. This was organised by HR Manager Bernadette Denis in collaboration with directors Joe Morin and Caroline Cetoupe plus all Heads of Department. 

Joe Morin opened the event to announce a new profit sharing scheme for staff which is introduced with immediate effect based on 2017 profit after tax. Caroline Cetoupe followed this with a talk on the importance of team building and the meaning of the Mission and Vision Statement of Mahe Shipping.  Head of Despartment all contributed and guest speaker Wellington Manjengwa, author of the book "Take a Chance and Win" gave an inspirational talk on positivity in the work environment.

Following lunch, staff headed for the beach for relaxation and fun & games including an egg-and-spoon race and tug of war.
