Mahe Shipping invests in a cool way to save energy

At a time when climate change is impacting the planet’s health and ecosystems, it’s important for every company to play a part to stave off or offset the negative impacts. One way to help lessen the effect of climate change, frequently highlighted in the international media, is to reduce carbon emissions.

Clean energy reduces carbon emissions by investing in solar panels and other energy sources with a high level of sustainability. This lowers our dependence on harvesting fossil fuels.

Mahe Shipping Company recently contracted local company Sun Tech Seychelles (Pty) Ltd for the purchase and installation of a 20kw PV System at the company's head office, The Wheelhouse, Victoria.  Installation was completed in April and commissioned in May 2022.

The system allows you to monitor each PV module on a smart phone or other device.

The first report analysis of electricity consumption for the period to end of June 2022 indicates a saving in CO2 emissions of more than 3,200 kilos, equivalent to planting 96 trees!
