Under the Seychelles Companies Ordinance 1972, the directors of Mahe Shipping Company have the power to do all acts for the promotion and carrying on of its business as stated in the company’s Memorandum of Association. The objects for which the Company is established are:
(a) To carry on the business of ships/husbandry agents, acting as representatives in Seychelles of any shipping company, navy, airline or other organisation engaged in transport activities including but not restricted to General Sales Agency and Cargo Sales Agency.
(b) To act as freight forwarder, clearing and forwarding agents and custom broker.
(c) To act as commission agents.
(d) To act as a courier including representing international courier companies
(e) To construct, finance, purchase, hire, manage, charter or sell any ships or other vessels, carry on the business of a shipowner and enter into contracts for the carriage of cargo, passengers and mail.
(f) To invest in other companies whether registered in Seychelles or overseas.
(g) To carry on the business of warehousing & logistics.

Gerry Adam began his career in 1974 as an Engineering Cadet Officer with Unicorn Lines and was trained both on shore and at sea and worked his way through the ranks, obtaining his Marine Engineer Class 1 Certificate of Competency in 1983. He served as Chief Engineer on several of the company’s vessels from 1983 to 1987 and joined Mahe Shipping in 1988 as Shipping Manager, being appointed Managing Director in 1994 and Chairman in 2018. He is a director of Corvina Investment Co Ltd and also serves as director on various other boards including Land Marine Limited.

Joe Morin has risen through the ranks of Mahe Shipping over a period of 25 years. He first joined the company in December 1994 as Assistant Cruise Ship Manager. He was later promoted to Operations Manager in 2000 and occupied this post for 10 years before promotion to Agency Manager in 2010. Joe was elected to the Board of Directors of Mahe Shipping to serve as Operations Director in October 2013. In 2018, he became Chief Executive Officer and in 2019, Managing Director.

Adrian Skerrett holds a degree in Economics and is a Chartered Management Accountant. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, he has been resident in Seychelles since 1980, when he joined Mahe Shipping as Group Accountant. He is the longest serving director of the company, including as Managing Director from 1984 to 1994 and he has been naturalised in Seychelles since 1994. He is a Director of Corvina Investment Co Ltd and other group companies, including Chairman of Silhouette Cruises Ltd, Victoria Properties & Investment Co Ltd, Liquid Air (Seychelles) Ltd, Presafe Services Ltd and Mahe Investments Ltd. He is an author of a number of books about Seychelles and its natural history and serves as a trustee of several environmental NGOs including as Chairman of Island Conservation Society.

Caroline Payet FCCA holds a Bsc degree in Accounting & Finance, from South Bank University, London, UK. She studied for ACCA at Emile Woolf College, London, UK and in 2002 joined Seychelles based auditors, Pool and Patel, becoming Audit Manager for major clients including Barclays Bank Sey. Ltd, Seychelles Breweries, Airtel, Seychelles Fishing Authority and Corvina group companies. She joined Corvina as Senior Management Accountant in October 2009. In October 2013, she was elected as a director of Mahe Shipping.

Gitanne Gendron joined Mahe Shipping as accountant in 1972, shortly after the company’s business activities were activated. She is by some distance the longest-serving member of staff, remaining a key figure to this day. Prior to joining the company she has lived and worked on a number of outer islands including Agalega, Alphonse, Diego Garcia, and Farquhar. She became a director of Mahe Shipping in 1984, shortly after a management buyout of the original founding shareholders took place. In addition to Mahe Shipping and Corvina she also serves as a director of a number of subsidiaries including 7° South Ltd, Bunson Travel (Seychelles) Ltd, Liquid Air (Seychelles) Ltd, Mahe Investments Ltd, Presafe Services and Victoria Properties and Investment Ltd.

Jean Weeling-Lee holds a Masters in Economics and began his career in 1984 as an economist with the Central Bank of Seychelles, rising to Director-General of Research before being promoted to General Manager in January 1993. He joined the private sector in 1995 and is currently Managing Director of Corvina Investment Company Limited as well as serving as a director of subsidiaries including Mahe Shipping Co Ltd and Corvina Management Services Ltd. He is also a director of companies including Seychelles Breweries Ltd, Le Refuge du Pecheur Ltd, Port Launay Resort Ltd, Barclays Bank (Seychelles) Ltd and Air Seychelles Ltd.

Jean-Francois Adam is the most recently appointed member of the Board. He has been providing critical IT network and mail exchange server support to the Corvina Group for many years. He is accredited as an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) in 2001 and has updated his skills to the status of an MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional). He has also completed a Master of Business Administration.
